Jacomo Campground Description
The campground at Lake Jacomo offers shaded campsites with some nice views to the lake below. Each campsite includes a picnic table and firepit. There are 21 basic sites for tent camping, 21 RV hookup sites with 30amp/electric only and 19 full hookup sites with 50 and 30 amp and water/sewer. The check in is a gated entry with firewood and ice available to purchase with the Campground hosts. Each campsite is allowed 2 vehicles with additional vehicles allowed at an extra cost. The fill/dump station is located close to the entrance. The main shower house is located in the center of the campground beside a picnic pavilion. When we visited, the facilities were clean and well stocked. The showers had hot water however at the time the water pressure was lacking. Handicap Accessible showers and bathroom stalls are available.
Things To Do
Lake Jacomo is a 970 acre lake located within the 7,809 acres of park land. Sail boating and pontoons are a popular option for boating. The lake has Crappie, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Carp, Catfish, Hybrid Striped Bass and Walleye. 720 acre Blue Springs Lake is also located close by offering additional boating and water recreation. The Blue Springs Marina offers boat rentals, fishing supplies, dock fishing, snacks and drinks. Kids will love to feed the fish swimming around the Marina with fish food available for purchase. Numerous hiking trails are located throughout the park. There are many picnic shelters, playgrounds and a swimming beach at Blue Springs Lake. For unique things to do, there is a native hoofed animal enclosure with Bison and Elk, a radio controlled model flying field and Missouri Town 1855, a living history farm and reenactment of Missouri life in the Civil War era. Within just a couple miles of Jacomo Campground are all the amenities of city life such as gas stations, grocery stores, many different types of restaurants, pharmacies, doctors offices and hospitals. There are also entertainment venues close by such as the Independence Center for mall shopping, movie theaters, golf courses, indoor amusement centers, bowling alleys and more.

Jacomo Campground is an quick getaway from those looking for a close to town camping experience. A quiet small campground with many recreation possibilities in the park and surrounding areas. A great location for those new to camping and looking for a place to camp when visiting the Kansas City Metro area.

Located conveniently close to the bath house with grassy common area behind the campsite. The fire pit is also located behind the campsite. A couple mature trees located close by however shade is limited. The campsite has a good view to the playground location.
